Iliya is a Perso-Arabic typeface Family, I am particularly interested in ancient Kufic script. Due to this interest, I took a project of designing a type family based on ancient Arabic Kufic script the gol of which was to review this script.
But, with the current change in its structure and its modern style, I investigated its structure by collecting more than 100 sample with over 1200 years of age. As a result, when someone looks at the typeface for the first time, initially and because of the similarity of a part of the characters, he feels that this is a modernised Kufic script. But after paying more attention, he would notice that this typeface is not Kufic and It is quite a different one.
